[김준호 기자=동해시] 동해시는 청정환경을 조성하기 위해  미세먼지 및 질소산화물 등 대기오염물질을 줄이고자 노후 경유차 조기폐차 지원에 나섰다.

시는, 26억여 원의 예산을 투입하여 3월 2일~11월까지 9개월간 노후 경유 조기폐차 총 1,296대를 대상으로 보조금을 지원한다.

시에 따르면,  6개월이상 등록된 4, 5등급 자동차 중 총중량 3.5톤미만 차량은 상한액의 50 ~ 70%, 3.5톤이상 및 덤프트럭 등은 상한액 전액을 지원하게 된다.

또한, 폐차 후 무공해차 구매시 4, 5등급자동차 중 총중량 3.5톤미만 차량은 50만원, 3.5톤이상 및 덤프트럭 등은 100~200% 추가 지원한다. 

조기폐차 신청은 환경과 또는 한국자동차환경협회에 신청서를 제출하면 되고 지원금은 차종 및 연식에 따라 보험개발원이 산정한 기준가액에 지원율을 곱한 금액으로 차량에 따라 차등 지급된다.
