[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 정선군새마을회에서는 기후위기 극복 및 탄소중립 실천을 위해 나무심기 행사를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

나무심기 행사는 새마을회 회원 50여 명이 참석한 가운데 9개읍·면 공휴지 및 유휴부지에 철쭉, 매실, 대추나무 등 1,000구루의 나무를 심었고, 이번 나무심기를 통해 미세먼지를 줄이고 탄소중립 동참을 이끌어 내어 녹색 친화적 생활환경 및 풍부한 산림자원을 조성할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다고 전했다.

최양진 정선군새마을회장은 "최근 대형산불로 인한 산림자원의 소중한 가치와 나무심기에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있는 만큼 나무심기를 통해 자연의 소중함을 일깨우기 계기가 마련되었다며", "앞으로도 새마을회 회원들과 함께 나무심기 및 탄소중립 실현을 위해 노력해 나가겠다"고 말했다.
