[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 7일 가평군은 생활임금심의위원회를 개최하여 내년도 생활임금 시급을 10,470원으로 결정했다고 밝혔다.

이는 2023년도 정부고시 최저임금 인상액 460원을 적용한 것으로 2022년 10,010원 대비 4.6% 상승한 금액이며 고용노동부가 고시한 내년도 최저임금 시급 9,620원보다 850원이 많다.

이번에 결정된 생활임금은 오는 2023년 1월 1일부터 적용되며, 대상은 군과 출자·출연기관이 직접 고용한 소속 근로자로 공공근로, 지역공동체사업 등과 같이 국비 또는 군비 지원으로 일시 채용된 근로자와 그밖에 생활임금 이상의 임금을 받고 있는 근로자는 적용을 제외한다.

‘생활임금’이란 최저임금 이상으로서 근로자가 최소한의 인간적·문화적 생활을 가능하게 할 목적으로 지급되는 임금을 말하며 가평군은 지난 2016년 가평군 생활임금 조례를 제정하여 2017년 6,996원을 시작으로 매년 생활임금을 결정·고시하고 있다.

군 관계자는 “타 시·군과의 형평성, 가평군의 재정여건, 유사 근로자 등의 2023년도 임금인상 등을 고려하여 생활임금 인상률을 결정하였으며, 2023년 1월부터 인상된 생활임금 적용으로 취약계층의 삶의 질을 향상시키고 지역 경제 활성화에 기여할 수 있기를 기대한다.”고 말했다.
