2023년 양주시 생활임금은 오는 2023년 1월 1일부터 양주시 소속 및 시 출자·출연 기관이 직접 고용한 근로자에 적용되며 민간 확산을 위해 민간이전 사업 추진 시에도 생활임금 적용을 권고할 예정이다.

양주시 관계자는 “코로나19 장기화와 소비자물가상승률을 고려해 경기도 생활임금 인상률 3,1%보다 높은 최저임금 인상률 5%를 반영해 인상을 결정했다”며 “근로자의 생활안정과 지역경제 활성화에 도움이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
