[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 22일 백영현 포천시장은 시청 시정회의실에서 ‘제20회 포천시민의 날’ 축제 준비를 위한 시민의 날 행사 추진위원회 위촉식 및 회의를 개최했다.

회의는 시 승격 20회를 맞아 평생학습축제, 북 페스티벌, 포천농축산물축제, 주민자치센터 어울림한마당, 읍면동 먹거리장터, 체육행사 등 다채로운 연계행사가 진행되는 포천시민의 날 축제 관련 토의가 이루어졌으며 시민 참여형 행사 추진이 건의됐다.

또한 시민의 날 행사 추진위원회 신임 위원장으로 NH농협은행포천시지부 박윤경 지부장이 선출되었으며, 박견영 포천시주민자치연합회장, 한은숙 대한적십자사봉사회포천지구협의회장을 부위원장으로 선출했다.

오는 10월 7일과 8일에 개최되는 ‘제20회 포천시민의 날 축제’는 문화행사와 체육행사가 함께 진행되며 ASF와 코로나19 등으로 4년만에 시민의 날 행사가 정상 개최되어 각계각층의 시민들이 소통하고 화합하는 자리로 마련해 그 의미가 크다.

백영현 포천시장은 “전국적으로 따지면 900여 개 축제가 있다. 우리 시에도 축제가 많은데 이런 축제들을 통·폐합해 더욱 즐길거리가 많은 특별한 축제를 했으면 하는 바람이다. 우리 시민이 화합하고 통합하는 축제의 장이 될 수 있도록 많은 지혜와 성원 부탁드린다.”고 지원과 협조를 당부했다.
