[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 4월 5일 의정부시 안병용 시장은 직동근린공원 힐빙정원 내 기념식수장에서 시민 90여 명과 함께 ‘희망의 숲’ 조성을 위한 식수행사를 진행하고, 송산사지근린공원 및 각 동별 지정장소 14개소를 포함하여 총 16개소에서 500여 명의 시민과 함께 209주의 나무를 식재했다고 밝혔다.

 
올해 첫 운영을 시작한 ‘희망의 숲’조성 프로젝트는 특별한 날 '결혼, 승진, 출생, 취업' 등을 기념하여 시민이 직접 가족과 함께 나무를 심고 가꾸기를 체험하는 행사라고 말했다.

이날 행사는 코로나19 방역수칙 및 나무의 생육 여건을 고려하여 나무별 간격을 2.5m이상 떨어뜨리고 구덩이파기-퇴비주기-나무넣기-흙채우기-물주기의 순서로 진행했다고 전했다.
