[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 캠코(한국자산관리공사)는 18일 유엔(UN) 산하기구인 UNGC가 운영하는 ‘ESG 멘토링 프로그램’에 공공기관 대상 ‘ESG 경영 멘토’로 참여한다고 밝혔다.

ESG 멘토링 프로그램은 UNGC 회원으로 가입된 기관들을 대상으로 멘토-멘티 매칭 및 멘토링을 진행하는 프로그램이다. ESG 기획부터 보고서 작성, 평가 대응 등 전반적인 이슈에 대해 학습하고 공유하는 과정을 진행한다. 

캠코는 앞으로 공공기관으로 구성된 7개의 멘티 기관들과 함께 연말까지 멘토링 세션과 성과공유 네트워킹 세션 등에 참여한다.  

권남주 캠코 사장은 “멀리 가려면 함께 가라는 말이 있는 것처럼 ESG경영은 다 함께 머리를 맞대고 노력해야 하는 문제”라며, “앞으로도 ESG 모범 사례를 지속적으로 창출하기 위해 노력할 것”이라고 말했다.

한편, 캠코는 지난 3월 ‘2021년도 ESG 경영이행보고서’를 발간․공시하여 대내외 이해관계자와 ESG 경영의 활동과 성과를 공유하는 등 투명 경영을 적극 실천하고 있다.
