[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 내달 17일까지 태백시는 봄철 건조한 날씨와 강풍으로 인해 대형 산불 발생 위험이 높아짐에 따라 ‘대형산불 특별대책 기간’으로 정하고, 산불방지 총력에 나섰다고 밝혔다.

태백시는 직원뿐만 아니라 통장, 민간 자생단체 등 300여명의 산불예방 인력들을 동원하여 순찰을 실시하고 있으며, 산불감시원 산림 전진 배치, 시간대별 산불방지 홍보 방송 등을 실시하고 있다고 전했다.

또한, 태백시 산불방지대책본부와 8개동 행정복지센터는 24시간 비상연락망을 가동하는 등 비상대응태세를 강화할 방침이라고 전했다.

아울러, 산불감시원 62명, 진화대원 40명 등 산불방지 인력을 활용해 입산통제구역 출입, 쓰레기 소각, 논‧밭두렁 태우기, 인화물질 소지, 담배꽁초 버리기 등 불법 행위를 차단하기 위해 순찰 단속을 강화할 계획이라고 했다. 

태백시 관계자는 “대형산불로 시민의 생명과 재산이 위협받는 일이 없도록 최선을 다하겠다”며 “시민들의 적극적인 관심과 감시를 당부한다”고 말했다.
