[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 23일부터 24일까지 양일간 양주시체육회는 ‘2021 경기 시니어 생활체육용품 지원사업’을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 초고령사회 진입을 앞두고 있는 가운데 코로나19 장기화로 집합 체육활동이 제한됨에 따라 어르신들의 신체적·정신적 건강 증진과 생활체육 활성화를 도모하고자 경기도체육회의 지원을 받아 진행했다고 했다.

체육회는 사전 수요 조사를 통해 선정한 폼롤러 44개, 요가밴드 64개, 요가매트 89개 등 맞춤형 생활체육 용품을 11개 읍면동 분회 경로당에 직접 방문해 전달했으며, 향후 코로나19 확산세가 진정국면에 접어들어 단계적 일상회복이 진행될 경우 체육회 소속 생활체육지도자가 직접 경로당에 방문해 기지급한 운동용품을 활용한 맞춤형 운동법을 지도할 예정이라고 했다.

조순광 회장은 “‘스포츠는 양주시를 젊게한다’는 목표 아래 시민의 건강증진과 지역 체육발전을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 전했다.
