[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 17일 동두천시 지역사회보장협의체는 시청 대회의실에서 ‘제4기 동 지역사회보장협의체 위촉식 및 유공자 표창 시상식’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

매년 1년간의 사업 성과물 공유를 통해 사회보장 네트워크를 강화하고, 민관협력체계 구축을 위해 성과보고회를 개최했으며, 코로나19로 최소 인원만 참석한 가운데 위촉식과 유공자 표창 수여식으로 진행했다고 전했다.

올해 동두천시는 2년 연속 연차별 지역사회보장계획 시행결과 우수 시군으로 선정됐으며, 위기 이웃 발굴·지원과 지역복지 활성화를 위한 2021년 민관협력 우수 시·군 평가에서 최우수 지자체로 선정되는 쾌거를 이뤘다고 했다.

동두천시 관계자는 “코로나19라는 새로운 사회적 위기 상황 속에서 협의체가 지역복지 공동체의 허브로서 최선을 다해준 결과였다”며 “민관협력을 통해 지역사회의 문제 해결과 위기 이웃 발굴을 위해 힘써 줄 것을 당부한다”고 전했다. 

한편, 협의체는 민관협력 네트워크를 토대로 지역의 복지 문제를 논의·조정·해결해 나가는 의사소통 통로의 역할과 다양하게 급증하는 복지 수요에 효율적으로 대처하기 위해 최선을 다한다는 계획이라고 밝혔다.
