[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 7일 동두천시 보훈단체협의회는 동두천시 두드림희망센터 3층 대회의실에서 내빈 및 각 보훈단체장 등 50여명이 참석한 가운데 창립 3주년 기념행사를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 기념행사는 코로나19 확산 예방을 위해 축소 개최됐으며, 지역안보 발전에 대한 공로패 전달, 유공자 표창 및 기념사 등의 순서로 진행됐다고 했다. 

이정식 보훈단체협의회장은 기념사를 통해 “보훈단체협의회가 창립 3주년을 맞이하게 되어 뜻깊게 생각한다. 보훈회관 건립, 보훈명예수당 인상 등 그간 국가보훈대상자 예우를 위해 노력한 동두천시에 감사의 마음을 전한다”면서 “지속적으로 지역사회 발전과 화합을 위해 활발히 활동하겠다”고 소감을 전했다.

전진석 부시장은 “동두천시 보훈단체협의회 창립 3주년을 진심으로 축하드리며, 나라를 위해 희생 및 공헌하신 국가보훈대상자와 가족분들에게 감사의 마음을 전한다. 앞으로도 국가보훈대상자 예우에 최선을 다하겠다”고 축하의 뜻을 전달했다.
