[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시 생연·중앙동 도시재생 주민협의체 사회적경제분과는 동절기를 대비하여 원도심 인근지역에 거주하는 주거취약계층을 대상으로 집수리 봉사 활동에 나서 눈길을 끌고 있다고 전했다. 

이번 활동은 2021 동두천시 도시재생 주민제안 공모사업을 통해 진행됐으며, 원도심 내 취약계층 20여 가정을 선정하여 노후 등기구 교체작업과 화장실 내 안전바 설치, 현관문 시건장치 개선 및 미끄럼방지매트 시공 등의 개·보수 작업을 위주로 실시됐고, 더불어 이번 봉사활동은 지역사회에서 꾸준히 봉사활동에 참여해오고 있는 주민협의체 사회적경제분과 회원과 행복마을관리소 지킴이, 제일상가상인회 등의 도움으로 진행되었다고 했다. 

이날 활동을 이끈 도시재생주민협의체 사회적경제분과 문창길 분과장은 “우리의 작은 노력으로 이웃의 환경을 나아지게 하는 것이 이러한 봉사활동를 지속하게 하는 원동력인 것 같다. 함께 하는 원도심을 만들기 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

이수동 도시재생과장은 “항상 이웃사랑 실천에 앞장서며 낮은 자세로 봉사하는 도시재생주민협의체의 노고에 감사드린다. 앞으로도 생기 넘치는 지역사회를 만드는데 노력해 달라”고 격려했다.
