[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 8월 19일, 재단법인 의정부시평생학습원은 경민대학교와 의정부시민의 평생교육 활성화와 공동사업 추진을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 

양 기관은 스마트시티 조성을 위한 사업 수행 및 상호 협력, 의정부학 관련 학문·기술·정보의 상호 교육과 협력, 신산업분야의 산·학·연·관 거버넌스 구성 참여, 후 진학 선도형 평생직업교육 활성화를 지원하고 있으며, 경민대학교의 설립 이념에 따라 평생학습원과 협력하여 시민들의 효·충의 인성교육과 평생교육 발전을 위해 협력해 나갈 예정이라고 했다. 

2021년 2학기부터 의정부시의 독자적 지역 학문인 ‘의정부학’특강을 관내 대학생 대상으로 운영할 예정이고, ‘의정부학’의 주요내용은 의정부의 역사, 자연환경, 행정제도, 역사적 인물, 지명유래와 문화재, 산업 및 경제, 미래상 등이 포함되어있어 의정부에 대한 이해와 미래 비전을 공유할 수 있을 것으로 기대 된다고 했다. 

송원찬 평생학습원장은 “경민대학교와의 협력체계를 구축하여  평생교육을 통한 지역사회의 발전을 기대하며 2021년 의정부학 특강을 통해서 경민대 학생들이 의정부의 가치를 올바르게 이해할 수 있는 좋은 계기가 될 것” 이라고 밝혔다.
