[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 7월 1일 의정부시 흥선동 마을복지계획 추진단은 의정부로타리클럽 회원들의 정성스럽게 준비하여 기부한 후원물품인 쌀 75포, 라면 20상자, 화장지 20롤 등을 관내 소외계층에게 전달했다고 밝혔다. 

의정부로타리클럽은 1979년대부터 현재까지 약 40여 년간 이어진 봉사단체로 100여 명의 회원들이 각종 봉사활동 등 다양한 활동을 펼치고 있다고 했다.

박돈신 의정부로타리클럽 회장은 “코로나19 상황으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 이웃에게 조금이라도 따뜻한 정이 전해지길 바라는 마음으로 나눔 활동에 동참하게 됐다.”며 “앞으로도 이웃사랑 실천에 적극적으로 참여하여 따뜻한 온기가 느껴지는 사회분위기가 조성될 수 있도록 일조하고 싶다.”고 말했다.

유준영 복지지원과장은 “평상시에도 소외계층에 대한 이웃사랑을 위해 많은 관심을 가져주시는 의정부로타리클럽 회원들께 감사드리며, 소외계층 없이 행복하고 따뜻한 흥선동이 될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.
