[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 10월부터 3개월간 동두천시는 사회보장급여 대상자 중 공적자료가 변경된 1,709가구를 대상으로 사회보장급여 적정성에 대한 확인조사를 실시한다고 밝혔다. 

이번 확인조사는 개인, 가구별 변동에 따른 복지서비스 제공과 부정수급 예방을 위해 실시하며, 보건복지부에서 제공한 상시근로소득, 취득세, 자동차, 금융재산정보 등의 공적자료를 토대로 확인하여 소득, 재산 등으로 급여감소 및 보장 중지가 예상되는 대상자에 대해서는 본인사실 확인 및 충분한 소명 기회를 제공하고 고의나 허위신고로 명백한 부정수급이 확인되면 보장 중지 및 급여 환수 등의 조치를 취할 계획이라고 했다. 

올해 10월부터 개편되는 '생계급여 수급자 부양의무자 기준 폐지'에 따라 타 급여 수급자가 부양비 삭제 등으로 인하여 생계급여를 추가로 수급할 수 있을 것으로 예측되어 제도권 안에 보호되는 대상자 증가로 안전보호망이 보다 두터워질 것으로 보인다고 했다. 

복지정책과 진영호 과장은  “급여 중지 대상자에 대해서는 지원 가능한 타 복지제도와 민간자원 등을 연계해 복지사각지대 해소에 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
