[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 22일 오후 2시 강릉시는 시청 2층 대회의실에서 '제2기 강릉시 공공디자인 진흥위원회 위원 위촉식'을 개최한다고 밝혔다. 

강릉시 공공디자인진흥위원회는 지난 2020년 5월 출범해 7개 분야(건축·디자인·문화·순수미술·조경·조명·토목)의 전문가 50명으로 구성해 시에서 추진하는 각종 공모사업을 비롯해 크고 작은 공공디자인 관련 사업에 대한 자문과 심의 역할을 톡톡히 해왔으며, 이번 제2기 공공디자인진흥위원회는 강릉시 '공공디자인 진흥조례'의 연임가능 규정에 의해 49명 중에 위촉에 동의한 47명으로 구성이 됐다고 했다. 

이날 회의에서 위원장, 부위원장이 선임되어 오는 2024년 4월까지 2년간 위원회를 이끌어 가게 되며, 위촉식에 이어 정기회의 안건인 ‘강릉시 공공디자인 진흥계획 제2차 중간보고회’를 선임 위원장 주재로 진행한다고 전했다. 

위촉장을 전달한 정일섭 강릉시장 권한대행은 “그동안 공공디자인 진흥위원회가 우리 시의 공공디자인 발전에 큰 역할을 다해 온 만큼 앞으로도 편리함과 안전 그리고 환경까지 생각하는 수준높은 공공디자인을 위해 힘써 달라”고 당부했다.
