[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 15일까지 강릉시는 건설현장 안전사고 및 ‘중대재해’ 예방을 위해 시에서 발주한 대형 건설공사 현장 16개소를 대상으로 안전점검을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

하수관로 공사, 하천공사 및 체육시설 조성공사 등 대형 건설공사 현장을 방문하여 건설, 보건 및 안전 등 관계 법령에 따른 의무사항 이행 여부를 확인하고, 현장 내 유해‧위험 요인 시정조치, 사업장별 안전 확보 여부 등을 점검할 계획이라고 했다.

지난 1월 시행되어 오는 2024년 확대 시행되는 '중대재해 처벌 등에 관한 법률' 에 대한 안내 및 교육도 병행할 예정이며, 현장 내 안전 확보를 위하여 사업담당자와 근로자 등의 건의사항을 청취하여 이에 대한 개선방안을 마련할 계획이라고 했다.

강릉시 관계자는 “안전은 누구나 차별 없이 누릴 권리로써, 지속적인 확인 점검을 통하여 단 한 건의 중대재해 발생 없는 건강하고 안전한 강릉시를 만들기 위하여 노력하겠다.” 고 말했다.
