[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동해시는 관내 농업인들이 안전한 농작업 환경조성과 농작업 안전의식 향상을 위해 농작업 안전관리 분야 사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

올해 동해시는 작목별 맞춤형 안전관리 실천 시범사업으로 6천 9백만원의 예산을 들여 양봉연구회를 비롯한 관내 농업인들을 대상으로 농작업 안전 보조구 공급사업을 추진하며, 이번 사업은 관행적인 농작업으로 인한 안전사고 및 농촌 인구의 고령화로 인한 근골격계 질환 등을 예방해 농업인 스스로 안전한 농작업 환경을 만들기 위해 추진된다고 했고 주요 사업내용은 작목별 각 작업단계를 고려한 농작업 위험요소 분석과 개선을 위한 전문가 컨설팅·교육, 작업시설·장비 등의 정기적인 안전점검, 위험환경 개선을 위한 농작업 안전 보조구 보급 등이라고 했다. 

양봉연구회를 대상으로 하는 작목별 맞춤형 안전관리 실천시범사업은 김정란 교수의 컨설팅을 받아 양봉 사육작업의 위험요소 진단 및 개선 대책을 수립 중이며, 현재 사업효과를 극대화하기 위해 안전작업복(벌옷) 등의 안전보조구 5종 423개(벌)와 엔진분무기 등의 안전장비 9종 60대를 보급했고 또한, 농업인들의 어깨 등 근골계 노동력 과다사용 방지 및 반복 작업환경 개선, 운반의 용이성 등을 위한 인체공학적 농작업 보조구로 손수레 55대, 운반용 핸드카 17대 등 총 72대를 관내 농업인들에게 보급해 농업 생산성을 높여 나갈 계획이라고 전했다.

정미경 농업기술센터소장은 “안전한 농업농촌 환경을 위해 앞으로도 농작업 재해를 예방하고 농업인들이 안전하게 농촌생활을 할 수 있는 여건을 계속해서 만들어 나가겠다”고 말했다.
