이번 활동을 통해 동두천시 공무원들은 큰시장, 중앙시장 등 관내 전통시장을 직접 둘러보고 다양한 제수용품 등을 구입하며 자유롭게 전통시장을 체험한다고 했다.

동두천시 관계자는 “코로나19로 어느 때보다 힘든 시기를 보내고 있는 전통시장 상인들에게 이러한 시책이 조금이나마 힘이 될 수 있기를 바란다”며 공직자들과 시민들의 적극적인 전통시장 이용을 당부했다.

한편 동두천시에서는 지난 2018년부터 민속 명절인 설과 추석, 그리고 매월 두 차례에 걸쳐 공무원 전통시장 장보기 특별체험을 장려해 오고 있다고 전했다.
