[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 화천군 생활지원사의 정성어린 돌봄과 관심이 독거노인의 소중한 생명을 구한 사실이 뒤늦게 알려졌다고 밝혔다. 

상서면 지역에서 생활지원사로 활동하며 독거노인을 돌보고 있는 류향경 생활지원사는 지난 12일 평소와 다름없이 상서면에 홀로 거주하는 A(91)씨에게 안부확인차 전화를 걸었고, 통화 연결과 동시에 류씨는 전화기 너머 들려오는 A씨의 목소리와 말투가 평소와 다소 다른 점을 직감했으며, 지체 없이 A씨의 자택을 방문한 류씨의 눈에 마루에 누워있는 A씨가 들어왔다고 했다. 

A씨가 스스로 몸을 가눌 수 없는 심각한 상태임을 확인한 류씨는 즉시 노인돌봄 전용차량을 이용해 화천 시내 병원으로 A씨를 이송했으며, 이후 서울 아산병원으로 후송된 A씨는 뇌졸중 진단을 받았고, 현재 치료를 받고 안정을 찾아가는 단계로 알려졌다고 전했다.
