이에 따라 양구군은 문화체육관광부 제4차 관광개발기본계획 및 강원도 제7차 권역별 관광개발계획 수립과 연계하면서 코로나19 이후의 관광 트렌드에 부합하는 전반적인 관광 진흥방안에 대한 계획을 수립할 계획이며, 이와 함께 도내 최초로 공정관광 조례를 제정하고, 공정관광 프로그램을 시범적으로 운영할 계획이라고 했다.

또한 지난달 ‘스포츠관광도시’ 비전을 선포한 것에 발맞춰 공정관광 프로그램 안에 스포츠관광 요소도 추가해 특색 있는 관광 프로그램 개발에 나서고, DMZ 관광벤처 사업 등을 통한 민간업체, 사회적 기업, 관광 출자기관 등과의 네트워크 구성으로 기존의 관(官)이 주도하는 관광산업 체계를 탈피해 보다 다양하고 활성화된 관광 생태계를 조성할 방침이라고 전했다.

이밖에 2023년부터 ‘고향사랑 기부금에 관한 법률’이 전면 시행될 예정임에 따라 기부자에 대한 ‘답례품 성격의 관광 상품’ 개발과 기부자를 관계인구(생활인구)화해 바이럴 마케팅에 활용하는 등 법 시행에 대비한 사전준비에 박차를 가할 계획이라고 밝혔다.
