[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시는 문화체육관광부에서 실시한 2021년도 전국 법정 문화도시 사업성과 평가 결과, 작년 ‘우수도시’에 이어 올해 최우수기관인 ‘선도도시’에 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

문체부는 전국 제1~2차 법정 문화도시 12개 지자체를 대상으로 2021년 사업 여건 조성과 수행 역량, 참여자 및 시민 만족도, 거버넌스 구축, 문화진흥 성과 등을 평가했다고 전했다.

원주시는 2019년 제1차 법정 문화도시로 지정된 후 2020년 1년 차 사업평가에서 우수도시로 선정되고, 2년 차인 2021년 사업평가에서 최우수기관인 ‘선도도시’에 선정되는 쾌거를 이루며 국비 2억 원의 인센티브를 추가로 지원받게 됐다고 했다.

원주시는 원주문화도시추진위원회 구성과 창의문화도시지원센터 운영 등을 통해 전문성을 갖춘 민간 거버넌스 조직을 확립하고, 행정과 센터와의 유기적인 체계를 갖춰 사업을 추진했다는 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.
