[김택곤 기자=영월군] 영월 별마로천문대가 문화체육관광부의 스마트박물관·미술관 기반조성 공모사업에 2년 연속 선정되어 사업을 추진 중이다.

지난해 별마로천문대에 실감콘텐츠 전시사업을 성공적으로 수행한데 이어, 올해에는 미디어월 구축사업으로 또 한번 스마트한 공립박물관으로 거듭날 예정이다.

박물관팀은 별마로천문대에 전시해설 도슨트, 소장품 아카이브, 천문학 교육 콘텐츠 등을 개발하여 2023년 상반기 미디어월 설치를 완료할 예정이다. 

영월군청 정대권 문화관광체육과장은 “별마로천문대가 작년 말 실감 전시로 재개관하였는데, 사업 이전과 비교해봤을 때 올 상반기 유료 관람객수만 116%가 증가하는 훌륭한 성과를 보였다. 올해 선정된 공모사업 역시 성실히 준비해서 영월군민과 관광객들이 더욱 많이 찾고 사랑받는 별마로천문대가 되도록 하겠다” 라고 하였다.
