[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] (재)포천시교육재단은 대학생들의 주거비 부담을 완화해 안정적인 주거환경을 통해 학업에 정진할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고자 ‘2021년 제2차 주거복지 지원 대학 장학생’을 모집한다고 밝혔다.

코로나 펜데믹으로 인한 경제적 어려움 속에서 대학생들을 위한 보다 현실적인 도움을 위해 2021년 신규로 발굴·추진하는 사업으로, 지난 7월 ‘제1차 주거복지 지원 대학장학생’을 모집·선발 지원한 바 있으며, ‘제2차 주거복지 지원 대학장학생’ 모집 또한 1차와 같이 관내·외 출신 대학생 150명을 선발하여 총 1억8,000만 원의 장학금을 지급할 예정이라고 했다. 

이와 관련하여, 박윤국 이사장은 “높은 대학 등록금에 주거비 부담까지 더해져 학업을 이어나가기 어려운 상황에 대학생들의 경제적 부담을 덜어 학교생활에 전념하길 바란다.”라며 앞으로도 포천시의 미래를 이끌어나갈 청년들을 위한 교육정책을 발굴 지원하기 위하여 최선의 방책을 마련하겠다."라고 말했다.

오는 12월 8일까지 ‘주거복지 지원 대학장학생’ 모집은 포천시교육재단을 직접 방문하거나 등기우편을 통해 접수 가능하며, 장학생 선발 자격기준, 신청 관련서류 등 기타 자세한 사항은 포천시교육재단 홈페이지 내 공지사항에서 확인할 수 있고, 기타 문의사항은 (재)포천시교육재단 사무국으로 하면 된다고 밝혔다.
