[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 16일 원주시 관광홍보대사 가수 조명섭의 공식 팬카페 ‘에밀스’는 원주시에 지정 기탁 후원금 4,800여만 원을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이번 후원금은 가수 조명섭의 데뷔 2주년 및 원주시 관광홍보대사 위촉을 기념해 회원들이 모은 성금으로 마련됐고, 후원금은 사회복지공동모금회에 전해져 조명섭의 모교인 원주공고 재학생을 비롯해 저소득 가정, 독거노인, 재능은 있지만 어려운 환경에 처한 청소년 등 지역 소외계층을 위해 쓰일 예정이라고 했다.

원주시 관계자는 “가수 조명섭과 에밀스 회원들의 선한 영향력이 밝고 따뜻한 사회를 실현하는 데 도움이 되기를 바란다.”라고 말했다.

한편, 인간축음기 가수 조명섭은 지난달 원주시 관광홍보대사로 위촉돼 원주시 관광자원과 지역축제를 알리는 데 앞장서고 있다고 밝혔다.
