[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 4월 5일, 북부지방산림청은 '제77회 식목일'을 맞아 춘천시 남산면 광판리 국유림 목장용 대부 반환지에서 '식목일 기념 나무심기' 행사를 가졌다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사는 북부지방산림청, 춘천국유림관리소, 임업진흥원·춘천시산림조합 직원, 국유림영림단 등 관계자 70여 명이 참석 하였다고 했다. 

나무심기 대상지는 지난 1982년 목장용지로 대부되었다가 2021년 반환된 토지로 약40년간 유휴토지로 활용되다가 이번에 산림으로 전환되는 의미를 가지는 곳이며, 유휴토지 조림 목적은 유휴토지를 산림으로 복원하여 신규 탄소흡수원을 확대하여 탄소중립에 기여하고자 하는 것이라고 전했다.

최수천 청장은 제77회 식목일을 맞아 “탄소중립 실현을 위하여 국민들께서도 내 주변에 한 그루 나무심기에 동참해 주시길 당부한다”고 밝혔다.
