[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 북부지방산림청은 5월 19일, 국유림관리소 숲가꾸기 담당자, 산림기술사와 함께 사업 담당자를 위한 열식간벌 추진 기본 이론 및 현장 교육을 진행하였다고 밝혔다.

이날 교육은 22년 열식간벌 사업 추진을 위한 경영목표·작업방법 등 기본 이론교육과 전년도 사업지 사례분석을 통한 설계요령 등 현장교육을 병행하여 실시하였다고 했다.

현장교육은 강원도 홍천군 북방면 성동리 산98로 전년도 산림청과 홍천국유림관리소에서 추진한 열식간벌 시범사업 대상지에서 진행했다고 전했다.

북부지방산림청에서는 전년도에 이어 숲가꾸기 사업 품질 향상 및 담당자 역량 강화를 위한 직무교육을 지속적으로 추진하고 있으며, 이번 교육은 금년도부터 추진하는 열식간벌 시범사업의 본격적인 시작 전 사업 담당자를 위해 실시하는 3번째 교육이라고 했다.

열식간벌 숲가꾸기는 기존 정량간벌 방식이 아닌 식재열(간격)로 제거목을 선정하고 솎아베는 방식으로, 산림청에서는 산물수집 비용 절감 등을 통한 저비용·고효율 숲가꾸기 추진으로 숲 관리 방식 개선, 탄소흡수기능 및 산림순환경영 기반을 구축하고자 열식간벌 시범사업을 실시하고 있다고 전했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “금년에도 사업담당자 직무역량 교육을 지속적으로 실시하여 숲가꾸기사업 품질을 높이고, 원활한 시범사업 추진으로 산림순환경영 기반 구축에 앞장서겠다”라고 밝혔다.
