[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 산림청에서 양봉농가 지원 및 양봉산업 육성을 위하여 조성한 밀원수 조림지에 대한 우수 사례를 공유하기 위해 실시한 2021년 「우리가 키운 우수조림지」평가에서 북부지방산림청 춘천국유림관리소가 우수기관으로 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

이번 평가는 산림청 내 5개 지방청 및 지방자치단체에서 조성한 2ha 이상 밀원수 조림지 12개소를 대상으로 서면·현장평가를 통해 선정했다고 전했다.

우수기관으로 선정된 춘천국유림관리소에서는 기후변화로 인한 아까시의 생리적 쇠퇴로 채밀의 어려움을 겪고 있는 가평군 관내 양봉농가를 위해 현장토론회 등을 통해 의견을 수렴하고 노령화된 아까시 임지를 “맹아갱신법”을 통해 조림하여 양봉농가 밀원 확보 및 경제림 조성을 위해 노력해왔다고 했다.

2012년부터 밀원수 조성을 위한 지속적 조림사업을 실시하였으며, 밀원수 조성 이후 채밀량이 늘어 관내 양봉농가가 2012년 대비 26배 증가하는 등 앞으로 양봉농가의 소득 창출에도 기여할 것으로 기대된다고 했다.
