[남상훈 기자 = 포천시] 지난 16일 백영현 포천시장은 올해 예정된 6군단 해체에 맞춰 반환되는 시유지 등 군단부지에 대한 활용계획을 수립하기 위해 ‘6군단 부지 활용방안 연구용역 착수보고회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

시청 시정회의실에서 진행된 연구용역 착수보고회는 지역 경제 활성화를 위한 개발 방향 분석 및 전략 수립, 사업 추진 상 저해요소(갈등, 리스크 등)와 해결 방안 분석 등을 연구한다. 또한 올해 말 중간보고회에 이어 오는 2023년 4월 중 최종보고회를 개최할 예정이다.

백영현 포천시장은 “6군단 부지 활용을 위한 상생협의체가 본격적으로 시작됐다. 6군단 부지가 반드시 시민의 품으로 돌아올 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.

부지용에 대해선 “해당 부지는 지역경제를 이끌고 인구유입의 허브역할을 수행할 핵심 요충지다. 대통령 공약사항인 민군상생복합타운을 유치해 민·군이 상생하는 전국적인 롤모델로 만들겠다.”고 덧불였다.
