[김준호 기자 = 강원남부] 동해해양경찰서(서장 최시영)는 해상 형사팀 형사2계가 동해지방해양경찰청과 해양경찰청의 평가에서 전국 1위에 선정되는 쾌거를 이뤘다.

이번 평가 1위선정은, 지난해 12월 28일 전국 20개 해양경찰서 수사과 형사2계 형사기동정 20척을 대상으로 실시한 정량 및 정성평가, 치안 실적, 우수시책 등에서 성과를 인정받은 결과다.

동해해경 형사2계는 하반기 전체 해양안전 저해사범(선박안전법, 선박직원법), 대게 성어기 불법조업 특별단속(수산자원관리법), 성수기 수상레저 안전위해사범 단속(수상레저안전법) 등 29건을 단속하고 56건을 검찰로 송치했으며 형사 활동 중 검문검색을 하는 등 자기 주도 적극적 형사 활동으로 높은 점수를 받았다. 

특히 수사 서비스 강화를 위한 현장 조사 및 출장 조사 활성화로 출석이 곤란한 원거리 거주 피의자 대상 출장 조사 등을 실시해 피의자 인권 보호와 만족도 향상에 적극 기여했다.

동해해경 관계자는 “선제적 해양안전 확보를 위한 치안질서 확립을 통해 안전하고 깨끗한 바다를 만들고 해양안전 및 수산자원 보호를 위해 지속적인 단속 활동도 펼쳐나가겠다”고 말했다.
