[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 9월 13일부터 오는 11월 30일까지 북부지방산림청은 본격적인 가을철 임산물 채취시기를 맞아 가을철 산림 내 불법행위에 대한 특별단속에 들어간다고 밝혔다.

이번 단속은 가을철 등산인구 급증에 따른 산림보호구역 내 훼손 및 불법 임산물 채취로 인한 산림피해를 최소화하기 위한 것으로, 특별사법경찰(23명)과 산림보호지원단(59명)으로 구성된 7개 단속반을 편성하여 관할구역인 서울·경기 및 강원 영서 지역에 대한 단속을 실시할 계획이라고 했다.

이번 특별단속은 드론 및 액션캠 등을 활용한 디지털 증거를 확보함으로써 과학적이고 전문화된 단속으로 임도‧산림 인접 지역 내 차량 주차 등 기타 위법행위뿐만 아니라 보호협약 체결 마을의 보호활동 및 채취 지역의 점검 또한 병행하여 실시할 예정이라고 전했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “최근 무허가 임산물 채취 및 보호구역 내 산림훼손 등 산림 내 불법행위가 다양화‧집단화됨에 따라 관련법으로 엄중히 처리할 방침이며, 이에 대한 국민들의 각별한 관심과 주의가 필요하다.”라고 밝혔다.
