[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시는 지난 11일, 시청 소회의실에서 법인택시와 협동조합택시 대표들과 애로사항 청취 및 지원방안에 관한 간담회를 가졌다고 전했다. 

이 자리에서 택시업계는 “장기간 지속된 코로나19로 승객감소는 물론 택시기사 구인난까지 이어져 경영상 어려움이 많다”고 호소하며 경영난을 극복하기 위해서는 시 차원의 적극적인 추가 지원이 필요하다고 건의했다. 

이에 김종권 안전도시국장은 택시업계의 어려움을 공감하면서 현재 시에서 추진 중인 '택시 노후 영상기록장치 교체 사업의 자부담금 완화', '택시 자율 감차보상' 등 경영난에 도움이 될 수 있는 사업내용을 전달했으며, “앞으로도 추가적인 지원방안을 모색하여 조금이라도 경영난이 완화될 수 있도록 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 시는 택시업계와의 소통을 강화하기 위해 시 현안에 대한 택시업계의 의견을 듣고 상호 이해와 협력을 넓혀 가기로 했다.
