이날 가평읍 주민자치위원들은 오는 5월 22일 자라섬 남도 꽃 정원 개방에 앞서 가평군을 찾아오는 행락객과 주민들을 위해 나눔의 동산과 6.25 반공산악대원 전적비 주변에 웃자란 수풀을 제거하고 시설물 주변의 쓰레기를 치우는 작업을 하였다고 했다.
