[김준호 기자 = 강원남부] 동해해양경찰서(서장 최시영)는 지난 14일 울릉도에서 뇌출혈 응급환자 1명을 함정을 이용해 긴급 이송했다고 밝혔다.

동해해경은 지난 14일 오전 10시 7분경 울릉의료원으로부터 뇌출혈 증상을 나타내는 응급환자 A씨(여, 70대)를 이송해 달라는 신고를 접수 받고, 울릉 인근 해상에서 경비중인 1,500톤급 경비함정을 울릉도로 급파하고, 단정을 이용하여 환자와 의사 등 총 3명을 경비함정으로 승선시켰다.

동해해경 관계자는 “울릉군 의료원 의사와 동승 중인 뇌출혈 응급환자를 안전하게 이송했으며, 의료 사각지대에 있는 도서지역에서 응급환자 발생 시 긴장을 늦추지 않고 국민의 생명을 보호하는데 최선을 다 하겠다.”고 말했다.

한편, 동해해경은 올해 현재까지  29회(헬기 19, 함정 10) 29명의 응급환자를 이송했다.
