[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백시는 하계 휴가철을 맞아 숙박시설 이용객 보호 및 공정한 숙박시장 조성을 위해 오는 8월 31일까지 불법 숙박영업 특별 합동 단속을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

주요단속 대상은 신고되지 않은 시설이나 숙박업이 불가한 무신고 숙박 의심업소, 숙박업으로 신고된 업소 중 불법 증축, 편법 운영 의심업소 등 총 100개소이다.

태백시는 무신고 숙박업소 영업행위 및 숙박업소 불법·편법 운영행위, 숙박업소의 위생관리기준 준수 및 관계 법령 준수 여부, 부당요금 징수 등을 단속한다.

단속 결과 적발된 무신고 숙박업소는 영업장 폐쇄 및 형사고발 조치가 취해지며 등록된 업소라 하더라도 ‘공중위생관리법’, ‘관광진흥법’, ‘농어촌정비법’등을 위반한 행위가 적발되면 그에 따른 행정처분을 할 방침이다.

태백시 관계자는 “휴가철 태백을 찾아주신 관광객들이 사고 없이 안전하게 여행할 수 있도록 철저하게 단속하고 위생적인 숙박 환경 조성을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
