해당법은 기존 법규로는 중대재해에 대한 책임자 처벌이 제대로 이뤄지지 않는다는 지적에 따라 지난해 1월 26일 제정됐으며, 오는 27일부터 시행되고, 이에 따라 시정부는 팀장 1명, 팀원 3명으로 구성되어 산업재해, 시민재해를 총괄하며 사고예방에 힘쓴다.

앞으로 중대재해전담조직은 안전·보건 관리체계 등을 구축하고 사업장별로 현장을 관리하며 사고 발생 시 신속대응, 수습 및 재발 방지에 나선다고 했다.
