[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 3월 24일, 의정부시 호원1동주민센터는 복지사각지대 최소화를 위한 복지사각지대 발굴 캠페인을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

복지사각지대란 실직, 휴·폐업 등으로 생계가 곤란한 가구나 질병, 장애 등 건강문제로 도움이 필요한 가구 등 다양한 위기 사유에 놓여있지만 도움을 받지 못하고 있는 가구 등이라고 전했다.

이번 캠페인은 인근 주민들을 대상으로 복지사각지대 발굴 및 신고의 중요성을 알리기 위해 주민센터 내 대기실에 안내문 및 홍보물을 비치해 주민들이 자발적으로 참여할 수 있도록 비대면 방식으로 진행하고 있으며 카카오톡 채널 호원1동 복지사랑방을 운영하며 누구나 복지상담을 신청할 수 있도록 접근성을 높였고, 해당 채널을 통해 어려움에 처한 이웃을 발견하면 누구나 도움을 요청할 수 있다고 했다.

안중현 호원1동장은 “코로나19 사회적 거리두기 장기화로 어느 때보다 지역 내 어려움을 겪는 이웃 발굴에 주민들의 많은 관심이 필요한 시기다”며 “도움이 필요한 이웃을 찾는 사각지대 발굴을 통해 신속한 지원․연계에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
