[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 6일 의정부시는 황범순 부시장 주재로 12월 동장 정례회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

단계적 일상회복 시행으로 11월부터 대면으로 진행된 이날 회의에는 안병용 시장과 황범순 부시장을 비롯한 관내 동장이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다고 했다.

이날 회의는 도로교통, 안전, 환경 등 다양한 주민 불편 건의 사항뿐만 아니라 그동안 각 동에서 추진해 온 현안 사항까지 다수 논의됐고, 흥선동, 녹양동과 의정부2동, 자금동은 훼손된 도로의 포장 및 노후된 버스정류장의 개선을, 의정부1동, 신곡2동, 송산3동은 겨울철 미끄럼 방지 및 방범용 CCTV 설치 등 시민의 안전을 위한 사항에 대해 건의했으며, 특히 가능동, 호원1·2동, 장암동에서는 각 동에서 지역 개선 및 시민의 편의를 위해 추진된 다양한 현안 사업에 대해 보고함으로써 우수사례를 서로 공유하는 등, 주민들의 생활과 관련된 다양한 안건들이 회의에서 심도 있게 논의됐다고 전했다.

안병용 의정부시장은 “올 한해 코로나19로 현장에서 노고가 많은 직원들에게 감사의 말씀을 전한다”며 “각 동의 동장은 리더십을 발휘해 주민의 의견을 항상 경청해야 한다. 또한 동절기 복지 사각지대를 집중적으로 발굴해 적기에 적정한 지원이 이루어질 수 있도록 주민생활 안정화에 신경써야 한다”고 말했다.

회의를 주재한 황범순 부시장은 “시 전반적으로 조직문화 개선을 위해 노력하고 있다”며 “기존 세대와 MZ세대 간 소통을 많이 해 서로 간에 오해가 발생하지 않도록 하는 것이 중요하다고 언급했다. 한편 각 동별로 결빙 취약지역을 확인해 안전사고가 발생하지 않도록 미리 대비해 달라“고 밝혔다.

한편, 의정부시는 14개 동장들이 현장에서 체감하고 주민들로부터 건의된 불편사항을 매월 동장회의를 통해 보고하고, 관련 부서와 논의해 신속하게 해결해나가고 있다고 밝혔다.
