[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 11월 29일 정선군에서는 정선읍 귤암리 마을만들기 사업 준공식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

정선읍 귤암리마을화합센터에서 열린 이날 준공식은 정선군수 최승준을 비롯한 정선군의회 전흥표 의장, 귤암리마을만들기추진위원회 박재열 위원장, 귤암리 이은배 이장, 기관단체장, 지역 주민 등이 참석한 가운데 코로나19 방역수칙을 준수한 가운데 진행되었고, 이날 준공식에 참석한 정선군수 최승준을 비롯한 마을주민들은 준공식과 함께 마을의 주요시설들을 둘러보고 코로나19 등으로 어려운 상황속에서도 준공까지 함께해준 마을만들기 추진위원회 관계자 및 지역 주민들의 노고를 격려했다고 전했다.

귤암리 마을만들기사업은 농촌마을에 편익 및 문화복지시설 등을 종합적으로 확충함으로써, 농촌 주민들의 정주서비스 기능의 충족은 물론 농촌 지역의 중심 공간으로 육성하여 지역주민들의 삶의 질 향상에 기여하고자 추진하게 되었다고 했다.

군은 지난 2019년 일반농산어촌개발 마을만들기 공모사업에 선정되어 세계 유일의 자연자원 동강할미꽃을 보유하고 지켜가는 100세 장수하는 행복한 동강할미꽃마을을 테마로 지난 2019년부터 총 사업비 10억 원의 사업비를 투입해 3년에 걸쳐 사업을 추진했으며, 정선읍 귤암리 마을은 이번 사업 준공에 따라 마을을 찾는 도시민들에게 동강할미꽃과 함께 다양한 농촌체험을 할 수 있는 공간 마련은 물론 주민들의 복지 향상 및 공동체 활성화 등 건강하고 행복이 넘치는 마을이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다고 했다.

정선읍 귤암리 마을만들기 사업으로 '귤암리마을화합센터 신축', '동강할미꽃 보존사업 추진', '석부작, 동강할미꽃 조형물, 마을 종합안내도 제작·설치'등 동강할미꽃 동화마을 조성 경관개선 사업 추진 등 마을주민 모두가 서로 소통하며 건강하고 행복한 마을을 만들기 위한 다양한 자원을 확보하게 되었다고 했다.

정선읍 귤암리 마을에는 현재 105가구에 202명(남 115, 여 87)의 마을주민들이 생활하고 있으며, 마을에는 녹색농촌체험관, 수리봉쉼터, 귤암리 캠핑장, 동강숲속겔러리 등을 다양한 시설을 갖추고 있다고 전했다.
