[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 22일 동두천시 보산동 새마을남‧녀지도자회와 미 3사단 순환대대 1-64기갑대대 소속 미군들은 보산동행정복지센터 조리실에서 만든 밑반찬과 착한식당 팥동네떡한과에서 지원한 떡을 관내 홀몸 어르신 15가구에 전달했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 보산동 새마을부녀회원들은 이른 아침부터 돼지고기 불고기, 배추 겉절이, 미역국, 가지볶음, 고구마맛탕 등을 직접 만들었으며, 지난 고구마 수확 때 함께한 미군들과 함께 홀몸 어르신 댁에 방문하여 밑반찬을 전달하고, 어르신의 안부까지 확인했다고 전했다.

새마을지도회 이용구 회장은 “일교차도 크고 추워진 날씨에 독감 등 건강관리에 특히 유의하셔야하는 어르신들의 안부도 확인하고 미군들과 함께 반찬까지 전달하니 뿌듯한 마음이 든다”고 말했다.

한편, 강성진 보산동장은 "이렇게 한뜻으로 일해주신 새마을 회원 분을 비롯한 자원봉사 분들에게 감사드리며, 보산동 행정복지센터에서도 적극 동참하겠다”고 밝혔다.
