[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 5일 (사)양주시자원봉사센터가 회천3동 소재 파르코프라자 6층 대회의실에서 사단법인 체제로 출범식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

(사)양주시자원봉사센터가 보다 체계적이고 전문적인 자원봉사센터로 전환을 위해 시민이 주도하는 사단법인으로 새로운 발걸음을 내딛는다고 전했다.

1998년 5월 1일 설립돼 시 직영으로 운영해온 양주시자원봉사센터는 지난 4월 이성호 양주시장을 초대 이사장으로 선임, 지난 1일 사단법인으로 공식 출범하며 재정과 사업 추진에 독립적인 지위를 얻었다고 했다.

이날 출범식은 박종성 센터장, 김종석 부시장, 황영희 부의장, 이희창 시의원, 홍성표 시의원, 임재근 시의원, 권석필 한국중앙자원봉사센터협회장, 법인 이사회 임원, 자원봉사자 등 40여명이 참석한 가운데 시민이 주도적으로 참여하는 민간 주도 자원봉사 활성화의 기반 마련을 목표로 하는 새로운 도약을 선언했다고 했다.

식전공연으로 예원예대 실용음악과 예원이펙트의 기타 공연, 양주시청년센터 입주기업 ‘AS클라리넷콰이어’의 클라리넷 공연이 펼쳐지며 한자리에 모인 자원봉사자 간 격려와 화합을 다졌다고 했다.

이어 사단법인 양주시자원봉사센터 출범 선포, 양주시자원봉사센터 깃발 이양식, 사단법인 추진경과 보고 및 식사, 격려사와 축사 순으로 진행했다고 했다.

자원봉사센터는 사단법인 체제 전환을 계기로 조직 및 시민의 적극적인 참여를 통한 자원봉사의 전문성과 자율성을 더욱 강화하는 한편 재능 나눔 및 자원봉사활동의 개발·장려·연계, 포스트 코로나 시대를 선도하는 프로그램 개발 등 시민 주도의 사업을 더욱 활성화해 나갈 계획이라고 밝혔다.

이성호 이사장은 “양주시자원봉사센터가 사단법인 전환을 계기로 자원봉사의 민간영역을 확대하고 봉사활동 가치 실현에 선도적 역할을 할 것”이라며 “자원봉사 발전에 앞장서며 더 좋은 공동체를 만드는데 기여해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

박종성 센터장은 “5만 8천여 명 자원봉사자들과 시민, 복지기관들과 적극적으로 소통하며 시민 주도의 자원봉사 문화를 이끌어 나갈 것”이라며 "자원봉사센터가 법인으로 새롭게 출발하는 만큼 자원봉사와 나눔으로 시민이 행복하고 가치 있는 삶을 만들어 갈 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.
