[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 23일 양주시 시장 이성호는 광적면, 양주2동, 회천1동을 순회하며 지역의 사회문제를 공유하고 사회혁신 과제를 발굴하기 위한 ‘찾아가는 혁신기획단 워크숍’을 성공적으로 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 워크숍은 ‘시민이 지역의 사회문제를 스스로 해결하는 것’이라는 정부의 사회혁신 과제에 발맞춰 시민들이 서로 다른 특성을 가진 지역에서 당면한 사회문제를 어떤 방향으로 스스로 해결하는지에 대한 사회혁신가로서의 역량을 강화하고자 마련했다고 전했다.

지난 3년간 ‘리빙랩 프로젝트’와 ‘국민디자인단’ 과제를 추진한 전문 서비스디자이너와 보조디자이너로 구성된 혁신기획단은 지역별 시민들이 체감하는 사회문제 분야를 선정한 후 분야별로 숨겨진 수요자 요구를 파악하고 다양한 사회문제를 발굴했다고 전했다. 

이에 회천1동은 봉양동 혐오시설 환경개선사업, 양주2동은 토리마을 아이들을 위한 교통안전 문화 조성, 광적면은 따뜻한 광적, 매력적인 광적 조성 등 읍면동별 시민들이 체감하는 과제로 아이디어를 도출하고 해결방안을 구체화할 예정이라고 했다.

이성호 시장은 “다양한 이해관계자가 참여한 이번 워크숍이 지역 맞춤형 사회문제를 스스로 발굴하고 문제를 같이 해결해 나가는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
