[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 5월 14일 양주시 회천노인복지관은 개관 2주년을 맞이해 지역 어르신들과 함께하는 개관행사 '2렇게 좋은날에'를 진행했다고 밝혔다. 

양주시 회천노인복지관은 양주시로부터 대한불교조계종사회복지재단이 위탁받고 지역주민의 염원을 담아 2019년 5월에 개관한 양주시 ‘최초의 노인복지관’ 으로 양주시 회천3동에 소재하고 있다고 했다. 

이번 개관 2주년 행사는 코로나19 방역수칙을 철저히 지키며 운영하였으며, 혼잡함을 방지하기 위하여 시간당 인원을 제한하여 기념식과 체험행사를 진행하였다고 했다. 

우수 자원봉사자와 우수 후원자 감사장 전달, 기념품 전달 등 다채로운 기념식이 함께 진행되었고, 체험 프로그램은 어르신들의 욕구를 반영하여 모델링 페이스트 체험, 부채 만들기, 연꽃 만들기, 달고나 만들기 등의 체험으로 구성되었으며, 사전에 신청을 받아 시간당 15명으로 운영하였다고 했다. 

이성호 양주시장 대신 참석한 성열원 복지문화국장은 “어려운 시기에 어르신들의 복지향상을 위한 직원들의 노고에 감사드리며, 앞으로도 양주시 어르신들을 위하여 다양한 노력을 해주시길 부탁드린다”고 소감을 전했다.

양주시 회천노인복지관 운영위원장 도일스님은 “이렇게 좋은 날에 어르신들을 직접 뵙게 되어 뿌듯하고, 이번 행사가 어르신들에게 큰 기쁨이 되길 바란다” 고 말씀을 전했다. 

개관 2주년 행사에 참여한 한 어르신은 “양주시 회천노인복지관 개관 2주년을 진심으로 축하드리며, 복지관에서 즐거운 체험행사를 준비해주셔서 일상의 답답함을 덜어냈고, 앞으로도 복지관에 좋은 일만 가득하길 바란다”며 참여 소감을 밝혔다.

주민정 관장은 “소중한 날에 함께 해주신 모든 분들게 다시 한 번 감사의 말씀을 드리며, 앞으로도 양주시 최초의 노인복지관으로써의 책임감과 역할을 다 할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다” 고 밝혔다.
