[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백시는 지난 13일부터 시작해 오는 9월 23일까지, 태백체험공원 인근에 1,500㎡로 조성한 반려동물 놀이터를 임시 개장했다고 밝혔다.

반려동물 놀이터는 반려동물들이 목줄 없이 뛰어놀 수 있는 공간으로 중·소형견과 대형견 놀이터로 구획되어 있으며 잔디 운동장, 펫오르기, 펫시소, 음수대 등을 설치했으며, 동반자를 위한 파고라, 벤치 등 휴게시설도 마련해 반려동물과 함께 자유롭게 산책하고 휴식을 즐길 수 있다.

운영은 오전 9시 30분부터 오후 7시까지이며, 매주 월요일과 우천시에는 휴장에 들어간다. 

놀이터에는 맹견 및 맹견의 믹스견은 입장 할 수 없고 동물보호법에 따라 동물 등록을 완료한 반려동물만 입장 가능하며 입장 전 목줄착용 및 인식표착용을 해야 한다. 단, 만 13세 미만 어린이나 영유아는 성인 보호자와 함께 입장해야 한다.

시는 임시개장 기간동안 이용객들에게 설문조사를 실시해 놀이터 운영과 관련하여 미흡한 점이나 시설보완 등의 의견을 청취해 향후 개선할 예정이다.
