[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시와 한국여행업협회(이하 KATA)는 2일 11시 8층 상황실에서 『강릉 관광활성화를 위한 상생발전 업무협약』을 체결한다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약식에서는 내년 상반기에 열리는 <제36차 KATA / TVA 한국·대만 관광교류회의>의 개최지를 강릉시로 공식 확정 발표한다.

<KATA / TVA 한국·대만 관광교류회의>는 한국과 대만 정부가 직접 참여 및 후원하는 관광활성화 교류 행사로 여행, 항공 등 인·아웃바운드 관광업체가 참여하고, 양국이 매년 번갈아 가며 개최한다.
이번 협약을 통해 연 130만 명의 대만 관광객이 강릉을 방문할 수 있도록 KATA와 공동마케팅을 추진할 계획이며, 향후 2023강릉세계합창대회, 2024강원동계청소년올림픽 등 각종 국제대회와 연계한 관광상품을 개발할 예정이다.
강릉시 관계자는“이번 협약식이 제36차 강릉행사 확대·발전 개최에 시발점이 되어 강릉시 관광발전에 도움이 되기를 바란다”고 말했다.
