[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 3월 15일, 평창군 농업기술센터는 농업용 드론을 이용한 병해충 방제 수요가 증가함에 따라 진행된 드론활용과 농약안전사용 이론교육을 시작으로 오는 4월 8일까지 실습교육을 진행한다고 밝혔다.

최근 고령화와 코로나19 여파에 의한 농촌 일손 부족 등으로 농작물 방제에 어려움이 많았으나 몇 년 전부터 드론활용을 통한 병해충 방제가 효과적으로 입증되면서 드론의 활용도와 관심이 높아지고 있는 추세이며, 이에 따라 평창군농업기술센터에서는 향후에도 일손 부족해결과 고령화된 농촌현실을 감안하여 매년 드론교육을 진행할 예정이고, 농업용 드론 활성화를 위해 교육뿐 아니라 드론 관련 보조사업도 지속적으로 추진할 계획이라고 했다. 

한편 평창군은 지난 2020년에는 농작물 134ha, 2021년은 235ha를 드론방제 지원사업을 추진하였으며, 2022년에도 지원예산을 대폭 확대하여 드론활성화 지원사업을 추진할 계획이라고 전했다.

이상명 농업기술센터 소장은 “농가의 노동력과 경영비 절감을 위하여 기술센터에서 신기술보급에 앞장설 것이며 안전한 드론운용을 위해 교육을 지속적으로 진행할 계획이다.”라고 밝혔다.
