[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백시는 행정안전부 주관 지역공동체 시설 활성화를 위한 청년공동체 활동 지원사업에 2년 연속 선정되어 국비를 확보하는 쾌거를 올렸다고 밝혔다.

이번 공모사업에 선정된 지자체는 전국적으로 총 20곳으로, 강원도에서 태백시가 유일하게 선정됐으며, 이 사업은 지역에서 활동하고자 하는 청년공동체와 연계해 이들의 창의성, 적극성, 재능 등을 통해 지역 공동체 시설 활성화를 도모하고자 하는 사업이라고 했다. 

태백시는 사업비 2,500만원(국·시비 50%씩)를 투입해 황지동 도시재생 뉴딜예비사업으로 조성한 공유주방 ‘부뚜막’을 활용한 ‘로컬 문화 콘텐츠 사업’을 추진할 계획이라고 전했다.

주요 사업내용은 로컬 재료를 활용한 음식 만들기 요리 프로그램 ‘원데이 쿠킹 클래스’ 운영, 마을 특화 콘텐츠 발굴, 로컬 홍보 유튜브 공동 제작반 운영 등 로컬 문화콘텐츠 프로그램 운영 등이라고 했다.

태백시는 오는 28일부터 내달 18일까지 공개모집을 통해 청년공동체를 선발하고 5월 중으로 선정된 청년공동체와 지역공동체 간 소통·협업 활동을 펼쳐 나갈 예정이라고 전했다.

박진영 경제일자리과장은 “이번 사업을 통해 청년공동체에 대한 활동기회를 제공함으로써 향후 지역사회 문제를 해결하고 지역발전의 주체로 청년이 설 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
