의정부시는 주요 사업으로 기초연금 지급, 기초생활보장 노인 가구 월동난방비 지급, 저소득 노인 가구 건강보험료 지원, 경로식당 및 식사배달 서비스 지원, 100세 생신 축하금 지급, 경로당 스마트 환경 구축 사업, 의정부형 노인 친화적 경로당 시설 조성 사업, 경로당 확충 사업 등 지역 내 어르신들이 체감할 수 있는 다양한 복지 시책을 추진하여 어르신들이 더 안정적인 노후를 보장하고 건강한 생활을 할 수 있도록 만전을 기하고 있다고 했다.
