다만, 일정 금액 이상의 국민연금을 수령하고 있을 경우와 소득인정액이 높을 경우 감액되며, 기존 기초연금 수급자들은 별도의 추가 신청 없이 변동된 기준을 적용받는다고 전했다.

기초연금을 받지 않는 만 65세 이상 어르신들은 주소지 관할 동 주민센터 또는 가까운 전국 국민연금공단 지사에 신청해야 하며, 보건복지부 복지로를 통해 온라인으로도 신청이 가능하다고 밝혔다.
