[김현우 기자 = 가평] 지난 12일 가평읍행정복지센터 맞춤형복지팀은 다목적 회의실에서 2023년도 가평읍 명예사회복지공무원 역량강화 교육을 실시했다고 밝혔다. 

가평읍명예사회복지공무원은 자발적으로 참여하여 지역 내 복지 사각지대에 처한 위기가구를 발굴하고 지원하는 무보수․명예직의 지역 인적안전망으로 33명으로 구성되어 있다. 

또한, 복지사각지대 취약계층 발굴뿐 아니라 홀몸어르신 1:1 결연 봉사활동, 한파 취약가구 방문(전화) 안부 확인, 복지자원을 배부하는 등 다양한 역할 등을 하고 있다.

이 날 역량강화 교육은 가평군지역사회보장협의체 이훈 사무국장을 강사로 하여 명예사회복지공무원 배경 및 목적, 개념과 역할(기능), 활동내용 및 주의사항에 대한 교육을 실시한 후 질의응답 시간을 가졌다.

임상호 가평읍장은 “가평읍명예사회복지공무원 중 한분이 작년 말 봉사하면서 여관방에 쓰러져 계신 복지대상자를 발견하여 그분의 생명을 지킬 수 있었다”며 “보이지 않는 곳에서 도움의 손길이 필요한 이웃을 찾아 가평읍행정복지센터로 연계하여 지역사회의 촘촘한 인적안전망으로서의 최선의 역할을 다해주고 계셔서 감사드린다”고 말했다.
